ThE DAvIs DIaRIes: July 2009

Gosh...So much has been going on the past couple months since our last blog. When we left off Taylor had just gotten out of the hospital. We found a great rheumatologist here in Reno and went to her in the beginning of June. She put her on an anti inflammatory but we weren't seeing any results. So we went back near the end of June and she set up a time in the OR for Taylor to have cortisone shots in both her knees by the orthopedic surgeon who was also following her. Taylor did great and the anesthsiologist was great. She woke up happy and content this time. Almost immediately we noticed a difference in her walking and by the beginning of July she was walking perfectly normal. She was also able to get up in the morning and after her naps and starting walking and playing. Before she couldn't get out of bed by herself. It was so sad...but this is an awesome drug and hopefully it will last a while. It varies from person to person on how long the cortisone will work for. So needless to say we are so happy that we have our little girl happily walking and playing around normal again !!!

We made another trip to Discovery Kingdom and San Francisco for Mother' Day. We always have so much fun there. We stayed for 3 days and had a blast.

We made a trip up to Idaho for the 4th of July this year. Me and the girls took a plane there while Dan drove up with his friend. We had a great hotel and the girls loved being with their cousins.

Recently we also bought bikes for Dan and I and a bike trailor for the girls to ride in. At first Taylor would not go in it and we couldn't figure out why. But shortly after her cortisone shots Dan put her in it and she was great.

Since then we have been going on lots of bike rides and stroller rides ! It's great to have something fun to do outside as a family while getting exercise too !

Since April I have been working alot. We started to take in house call for Labor and Delivery doing the c sections. It's lots of hours away from home but the money is great and the girls can come and visit lots since I'm only on call.

Well, that's what has been going on. We're all doing great and loving life. The girls are just growing like weeds and I love every moment I get with them.
